It's A Bill Of Rights, Not A Bill Of Needs #2A #tcot

Here are some needs spelled out for those liberals who need the education:
And you libs don't tell me to call 911. I called 911 in 2008 and the firemen arrived in 3 friggin' hours (see blog mid November 2008 for burned house pictures). Oh, and in Los Angeles people called 911 during the Rodney King riots and the police arrived in 4 DAYS.

I do believe in calling 911 and our local police/sheriffs are reliable. However, it is foolish to rely on police completely because when seconds count, police are (usually) minutes away.

The Founding Fathers, in their wisdom, set out a Bill of Rights that was designed to protect citizens from government. That includes the right to be armed.

They were self sufficient people and understood that only people who were sufficient unto themselves could be truly free.

At least minutes... And the average crime takes less than 90 seconds...

Having said that, I have yet to see a criminal that can run faster than 780fps... :-)

That fire, and police and fire response were very inadequate. This was all before I knew you. I have to admit I had to stop at the cleavage story and get a chuckle.

Why do I need a gun? Simple: I might see somebody I want, or need, to shoot.

It's not enough to own a gun these days, nor is it enough to merely support the 2nd Amendment. I recommend that everyone join the NRA simply because if the government succeeds in taking our guns away, then nothing stands in the way of some whack president usurping all police powers and setting up an autocracy.

Ditto Euripides…

I'm not a "joiner." I keep to myself, and what I have in my house is none of anybody's business. I have NEVER donated to a political campaign or candidate. But NOBODY fights for our rights like the NRA, and while not 'perfect' they keep the fight simple. Its the 2nd Amendment - you would think the politicians had heard of it.

It took a lot to pry the membership fee from my hands, but I believe it was worth it. I got a sticker, and a knife...

Hey Race: The little knives the NRA gives out are great! The other year I got a nice little red-wood handled lock blade and ended up signing up my son so he could have one too.

But the real reason I like the NRA is that they actually do defend the 2nd Amendment. And yes, it's difficult for me to give up money to a lobby, but at least we get cool little knife thank you gifts for our efforts.

Obama only gives out stupid phones.... :-)

YOW....I just set the Wayback machine to November 2008, and looked at the pics.

Glad you got everything sorted out.

An AK?

What's the matter with an all-American AR-15?

Or an even more American Tommy gun?
