The Stylish Man's Guide to Concealed Carry

How to arrange good-looking clothing around the decidedly non-standard bulge of a handgun is a topic worth looking at. It’s something that a whole range of men need to think about: police detectives, security guards, entrepreneurs in dangerous countries, and even your average American civilian who prefers to be armed.

“Concealed carry” exists for a number of reasons. When you’re doing it, you want to be living up to both parts of the phrase: you want to be carrying, and have access to, a firearm, and you want it to be discreetly hidden until such time as you need it.

For some men, any jacket long enough to hide a holster is sufficient. But for most men, concealed carry needs to fit other societal expectations.

This will likely be a thing of the past. With a regulations disarming Americans, there will be no need of an armed constabulary. I'm sure that the elite will retain armed bodyguards just in case.

Good points, and yes a good tailor IS a great asset for helping to conceal a handgun... Just sayin...

Since I reside in the Land of Obama Voters (aka Illinois), this post really doesn't pertain to me. Concealed carrying of guns makes a citizen a felon.

Regardless of the bulge. Of course, should you want to enter my house uninvited, that's another matter.

Great subject Opus. It can be a real challenge to carry from the clothing POV sometimes.

When I went to conceal carry class our instructor started out by discussing the concealment aspect. Then he proved it. He dislodged at least nine sidearms from his person that were not at all visible in his common street clothing. From as large as a full sized .45 to a tiny .22 double barreled darringer. He showed many and varied simple and complex concealment methods. He received a round of applause, a number of chuckles, and some honest respect. I think one of the women even offered up and OMG!
