32,000 Flee Colorado Fires

I saw the headline this morning.  How horrific that the fire is coming to populated areas.  I have some experience with wildfire.  Even when nobody is injured, losing a home through fire is very traumatic.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by the wildfires.

It is so sad and horrible when a fire takes a person's home. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and fireman so that they may stop the fire.

As a homeowner remove all brush to give fire fighters an even chance to save your home.

This is happening in my town. My house is out of danger, but over 100 have burned. The worst we have to worry about is the thick smoke. It was "snowing" ash two nights ago.

What restores my faith in mankind is that over 32,000 have evacuated, there are only around 600 in shelters, meaning that people from the surrounding community have taken in over 31,000 of their fellow citizens.

I personally know quite a few and have offered them our home since we will be leaving for a week, and every last family already had somewhere to stay, many with family members.

We are a very conservative redoubt in a purple state. Coincidence?
