Michele Bachmann Rule 5

I hope this post isn't taken in the wrong way. I think it is inappropriate to objectify women, especially women who move in the halls of power. It is a tool of our enemies and it used against wonderful, patriotic women.

On the other hand, Newsweek published a cover picture of Michele Bachmann this week that seemed an attempt to portray her as looking crazed. They are able to find pictures of her looking all sorts of ways because she is a woman who still is able to control her facial muscles, for lack of Botox. That is a plus, not a minus. But still, they must have had to leaf through all sorts of attractive pictures of her because she is a photogenic lady.

So, whether you believe she belongs in the Oval Office or not, she is a remarkable woman in so many ways, caring for her constituents, her family and a score of foster children throughout the years. I know her heart is in the right place. She understands the financial and cultural peril our country is in and is willing to take the slings and arrows that come with standing up for what is right.

What follows is a short homage to her. Michele, if you read this, know that many Americans (and Iowans!) feel that you are a lovely human being, inside and out.

And remember to check out other Rule 5 greats:

Saturday night is bath night at Theospark.

American Power features a Jaime Lee Curtis sexy dance from the movie True Lies.

Maggie at Maggie's Notebook has the Ecclestone sisters, Tamara and Petra and Annie Ilonzeh.

Teresamerica features Angie Harmon.

And a rare treat, TCL's one rule 5 post of the year.

Shaw introduces Putin's Army of scantily-clad car wash babes.

The Pirate's Cove has a lovely pinup.

The Eye of Polyphemus turns toward Alessandra Torresani.

The Classic Liberal justifies Madonna's love.

And don't forget to celebrate rule 5 "Woodsterman Style".

Michelle is a wonderful woman, both inside and out.
She has guts and is very brave.
Great post, Opus.

Those cranks at Newsweek are DISPICABLE, they way they trash conservative women.
They went too far this time!

Michelle is pretty, and she has charisma. But primarily she has a good heart. And people connect with that.

I see pawlenty dropped out after coming in 3rd, or I mean after attacking Michele and she coming in 1st.

Go Michele!

When even Jon Stewart takes Newsweek to task and allows as how that cover was brazenly a political hit piece, I think the jig is up. Reuters falsified loads of pictures of the Hizboallah war, to the point of publishing images they KNEW were Photoshopped to look make Israel look as bad as possible. Newsweek falls right in there - liars.

Nice looking, intelligent lady.

Newsweek is a Democrat slut journal. Not surprising.

It is refreshing to see someone like Michele as opposed to the botox queen

Great post. She's plenty okay. Held her own with the group. Especially liked her response to her relationship with her husband and family. . . .Bump . . ps: Newsweek hit a new low, again.

She sure is a pretty woman. The more reason to go after her. When in non-partisan circles, I think you will note that pretty women are often the most picked on. In politics, that is all the left has so don't expect more. At least when I chide Hillary... well, just... compare the two. (And look at what kind of life they have lead.)

She does nothing for me which is maybe a little odd since others who our tastes generally agree think she's awesome in every way.
She doesn't seem terribly bright.
It's my opinion she's spent too much of her life hiding how she really feels as far as expressiveness goes.
It scares me that if she's not the best we can do she is somehow way up there.

If Michelle was smart, she'd stay away from those liberal talk shows and interviews from those liberal fools..
