Did Obamacare kill the Obama recovery?

The Heritage Foundation’s James Sherk has a fascinating new paper out showing that the U.S. economic recovery stalled almost immediately after Obamacare became law. Before Obamacare was passed, private sector job creation had been averaging 67,600 net new jobs a month. After Obamacare passed net private sector job creation fell to 6,400 jobs a month. Sherk identifies some provisions of Obamacare that discourage job creation:
  • Businesses with more than 50 workers will see their costs for health coverage rise—they must purchase more expensive government-approved insurance or pay a penalty;
  • Businesses with fewer than 50 workers have a strong incentive to maintain this size, to avoid these higher costs; and
  • Employers face considerable uncertainty about what constitutes qualifying health coverage and what it will cost. They also do not know what the health care market or their health care costs will look like in four years. This makes planning for the future difficult.
Missing form this list is the $500 billion in new taxes Obamacare also inflicted on the nascent recovery.

It sure didn't help, but businesses are faced with many other uncertainties from this administration as well.

This is a stunning report -- and goes to how the MSM has masked the effects of the shenanigans perpetrated by Peolsi, Reid, and Obama.

In a noontime conversation with a co-worker (fellow conservative) today, we wondered if The Chicago Jesus would benefit from a sudden uptick in the economy middle of next year. We came to the conclusion -- and it is readily apparent -- that this country's economy is almost too far gone to afford him any such miracle.

There are so-o-o-o-o many people out of work and so much money being held on the sidelines by business that only until this POUTUS's fanny is unceremoniously thrown out onto Pennsylvania Avenue, will we be able to start on the road to recovery.

As a matter of information, take a look at an article in Forbes about the withering American dream due to Obama.

You and your readers are more than welcome to comment and post over on my blog in a series I am running called "Cracks". It goes to pointing up the weaknesses in this idiot's re-election effort and how he may not be as formidable a president to unseat based on his record and continued display of incompetence and arrogance.

It sure looks like more than just a coincidence that businesses stopped hiring workers after Obamacare became law. Between Obamacare and all the regulations instituted by Obama and his cronies its no wonder we're back in a recession.

I think Obama-everything killed the recovery.

And now I'm mentally singing 'Obamacare killed the Re-cov-ery' to the tune of 'Video killed the radio star', thank you VERY much.

There is no question that uncertainty killed the recovery Or, kept the recovery from even starting in the 1st place, which is what I would maintain.

Uncertainty about HC and tax liability is keeping businesses from hiring aggressively. If anyone doesn't believe this go talk to any business with 25 or more employees.

The dems know this, some of them aren't that stupid, so this is intentional. The party in power is trying to hurt America. No question.

There was an Obama recovery? Who knew?

It made it harder. But our whole economy being built on government intervention instead of the free market is what turned it from recession to depression.

The answer: No, there never was a recovery.
