ATTN: CA BLOGGERS! Anti Gay History in CA schools Petition drive has started!

October 12, 2011 is the deadline to turn in over 500,000 valid registered-voter signatures in order to get a measure on the ballot to reverse the horrible decision by the CA legislature and Governor Brown to teach our ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN about the SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND PREFERENCE of historical figures in the CA Social Science curriculum. The petitions should be available later this week, after the lawyers review the measure and give the OK.

Please go to and click on Sign a Petition under the Take Action heading.  They will send petitions to you in a few days when they become available.

SB48 forces children to study materials that tell them their families’ values are wrong.
It forces schools to use a social science curriculum that promotes the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender lifestyles that undermine traditional family relationships.
It does not allow parents to protect their kids by opting out of classes that promote homosexuality.
It forces schools to review and replace their curriculum at a time when this money should be used for other purposes.
As the LA Times wrote, it injects “controversial politics into the classroom” and puts politicians rather than academic experts in charge of curriculum at a time when classrooms need to focus on improving academic performance.
It requires a selective treatment of history by requiring that only events that reflect positively on people in the LGBT community may be discussed.
It creates conflict between schools and families over the values children learn.
It creates conflict between teachers and schools by forcing teachers with traditional values to teach as true what they do not believe.
It threatens charter schools that are renewing their communities, taking away their freedom to offer instruction focused on academics instead of politics.
Please join me in printing out petitions and standing in front of your local grocery store to get signatures. Our kids' and our society's future depends on YOU!

Please send a link to this story to your CA friends and relatives if you do not live in California.  We can all HELP!

Saying that this goes too far is an understatement. I have no idea how this even made it to the floor of the legislature.

If I lived in California, I'd be in front of my favorite grocery store. I will send the link to people that I know. Thanks for your work.

I'll click, but let's not over look the recent history in this evil and perverted state. We voted for no benefits (except emergency medical care) to illegals, the courts declared it unconstitutional. We voted for marriage between a man and a woman only, the courts declared it unconstitutional. We'll petition for this nonsense not be allowed to brainwash our children in the public education, again, I expect it to be overturned by the court. Call me a pessimist and a cynic, but I've been here to long to be naive to have faith in democracy anymore. Not in the socialist state of Kalifornia.
