Rest in Peace, Elizabeth Edwards

Oh dear.  I didn't know she was so close to the end when I read stories this week that she decided to halt treatment.  This must be sudden for her family even though they knew she was sick.

I lost a friend a little over a year ago to breast cancer and this brings it all back.  I can only hope that she was at peace at the end and that her family can find some way to deal with this.  She was so young to leave children ages 10 and 12.  How sad.

I just noticed Elizabeth Edwards is the #3 US trend on twitter.

Hi Opus. This is very very sad news, it's sudden in that when the news came out yesterday, they were saying she had at least a month. I am praying for her and her family. She is at peace now, I feel very sad for her young children, it will be hard on them.
Sorry this brings back your thoughts of your friend too, take care and I'm thinking of you. God Bless.

I had a friend die of cancer in August. As with Elisabeth Edwards, one can draw some solace because her pain is gone.

Amen--I was surprised to learn of her death tonight as well.

Very sad news about Elizabeth Edwards. So sad, too, that she has small children.
I lost a friend today from uterine cancer. It happened very quickly...a rare, aggressive cancer that she just found out about at the beginning of November. Her husband has been keeping us updated by e-mail and today he said the very same thing, "her pain is gone and she is at peace". We never know what is in our future, so we must live every day to it's fullest.

She went through hell, and decided to leave on her own terms.

I was shocked also after hearing only one day before that her treatments were stopped. I suspect that it was timed this way so that she didn't have to bear the conversation swirling around her coming death. That's the way I would want to do it if in her place.
