I trust that that a member of your household staff (if the groundskeepers were not available) swept up the leaf immediately. The pesky seasons usually don't impact we ho live in Southern California so profoundly... ;^)
Speak for yourself young lady. Fall was a month ago here with all of the aspens yellow. We're now enjoying winter here. We got 3 feet of snow and it's been 0 degrees the last two mornings. It will be the best skiing Thanksgiving Week I can ever remember. This should give our local economy a shot in the arm.

I have lots of leaves on the ground I can send your way. I was waiting until they all blew off my trees. Now it's too cold and rainy to rake them up, maybe later in the week.

Wow, it's taken that long for this leaf to migrate south for the winter? It left here in mid October!

The fall foliage this year in the D.C. area has been the best in at least a decade.
Even better -- the leaves turned late and lasted well until Thanksgiving Day. Usually by Thanksgiving Day, the leaves have turned brown and mostly fallen from the trees.
