Update: fire appears to be gone, now only lights and sirens on hilltop

Thank goodness. There is no wind tonight. We got lucky. Thank you, firefighters!

As vast and heartbreaking as the property damage is, the thought of losing family members to fire is ghastly.

One funny coincidence was that I was in the middle of reading a book on fire safety to one of my boys called "Stop, Drop and Roll" when my older son burst into the room and demanded that I look out the window.
