Three Things You May Not Have Known About Islam

A very enlightening video clip.

This has been a topic of conversation for some time.
This is a very good video.
It should be emailed as a link to all that do not reason with easily.
The part that states: con the infidel, tell him anything to trick him--That applies to the Ground Zero Victory Mosque--Right? That applies to explaining Sharia Law TOO; we might assume, our fellow countrymen will see this as a real effort by these peaceful moderate refugees trying to escape the heavy handed Mid Eastern culture-that's why they are here. Right? This video contradicts all those trying to smooth over Islam, inch by inch; trick by trick.
To bad only a few will take this at face value.
Aggression by passivity.

Islam only allows Islam. Everything else is an abomination in the sight of Allah.

That's what it comes down to and that's what a Muslim cares about. In dealing with Infidels (who Mohammad commands must be put to the sword or allowed to convert) all is permissible because you're dealing with people who have the status of dogs.

I am not saying that Muslims are all bad people. But that's what they believe and you need to accept it at face value.

Good video, Opus. I'm going to borrow it from you.

The only thing that makes me wonder about the authors understanding of Islam is his misunderstanding of Christianity, particularly Catholicism. We cannot "pick and choose" what part of the Bible to believe, even though many do. Christians believe that the Bible is true, entirely and completely. Further, the Catholic Church teaches that truth cannot contradict truth. This means that there are no contradictions in the Bible, even though there may appear to be on the surface.

We have to reconcile these apparent contradictions to understand the truth. The contradictions exist only in our poor understanding, not in reality.

Because the author of the video misses that basic, yet subtle understanding of Christianity I have to wonder what he's missing regarding the subtleties of the Islamic faith.

Regardless, he is substantially correct in the majority of his assertions.

The words bouncing all around does get a bit bothersome, though. Of course, that might just be an old guy thing.

I've been saying for many months that Muslims are not our friends. Now, obviously, there is the exception to the rule, but we should be very wary of these people, generally speaking. Unfortunately our history is going to make that very difficult, because no one wants to be viewed as a "racist" or intolerant. But they do not hold our values, nor do they live from the same perspective(s) that we do. I've also said that we are going to "tolerant" ourselves right out of existance. Why won't anyone in the government comment on this issue, do you suppose? I'm going to cross-post it, and I'm also going to send it to my Rep and two Senators to see what kind of a response I get. Thanks for posting!

Muslim law has no room for "Feel Good" leftists. As they will be the first to discover when their heads - literally - roll.

LL, quite so.

Cat, you are a greater scholar than I. Thanks for the clarification.

I know that in Judaism, we have spent millenia arguing and citing scholars about what the Torah means. And there are still disagreements.

The fun part about our imperfect understanding is that the book improves on re-reading. Each successive reading reveals new insight, based on the reader's newfound maturity and perspective.

Hoping, there are tolerant muslims who want interfaith dialog. My rabbi just returned from the middle east where he related a story of a prominent muslim inviting him to his home for dialog. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the imam's neighbors, he asked the rabbi to remove his jewish skullcap for the visit. Sad that that would be necessary. But it says a lot about Islam at large, and about that particular imam.

Wo, fact is, when leftists heads roll at the hands of muslims or other bloodthirsty tyrants, it will be too late for the rest of us. So we are forced to protect our resident leftists, whether they like it or not, for our own good.

Fascinating...I believe the peaceful passages were written earlier and that most muslims really believe that's 'their islam'...until they wake up, they'll be misrepresented by their islamists and shouldn't be angry at US for it. Islam needs a Martin Luther!

"Bigot" and 'racist' are not terms that bother me much anymore. Islam is a perverted religious political system and muslims are liars.

Opus, you got the whole argument thing right. Growing up, my neighborhood was pretty well split between Catholics and Jews (St. Louis has a huge Jewish population) with an occasional token Protestant so a big chunk of my friends were Jewish. The arguments around the table never stopped. And especially among the Orthodox; the old men could go at it for hours. It's a beautiful thing.
