Obama Complains to UN About Arizona, Jan Brewer Objects

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer called on Hillary Clinton to remove language from the recent report to the UN Human Rights Council that characterized S.B.1070 as human rights abuse, and the Obama administration's court challenge as a defense of human rights.

Really? Controlling our border is now a human rights violation? What about OUR human rights not to be overrun by criminals breaking our laws. What America's right to be a country. Can we even be a country without borders? Don't we have a right to make decisions about immigration based on what is good for America? I swear Obama is an internationalist, not an American. Too many years being raised overseas, I guess.

Arizona GOP Gov. Jan Brewer is calling on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to remove a reference to her state’s immigration law from a report on human rights.

In a required report to the United Nations Human Rights Council, the State Department said the federal government's challenge to the Arizona law that requires police to check the immigration status of anyone they stop or detain was an example of how the United States is protecting human rights.

"A recent Arizona law, S.B. 1070, has generated significant attention and debate at home and around the world," the report read. "The issue is being addressed in a court action that argues that the federal government has the authority to set and enforce immigration law. That action is ongoing; parts of the law are currently enjoined."...

“The idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a state of the United States to ‘review’ by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional,” Brewer wrote. “Human rights as guaranteed by the United States and Arizona Constitutions are expressly protected in S.B. 1070 and defended vigorously by my administration.”

“If the federal government secured the entire border and enforced our immigration laws, these human rights problems would not be occurring for citizens, legal residents and illegal immigrants,” she added.

You OBVIOUSLY don't understand what "human rights" are and are not.

They ARE what liberals say they are.

They ARE what petty third world despots like Chavez, Quadaffi, Ahmadinejad, etc. say they are.

They never apply to white people and more particularly to white Americans.

Obama has a lot in common with Marx, and I don't mean Groucho, Zeppo or Harpo.

LL no doubt! they live by the 'what's for me is not for thee' medley.

Good one Opus. What about the human rights of Arizona rancher Robert Krentz and thousands upon thousands of others?!

This is the most offensive thing a US president has ALMOST ever done aside from take the side of illegal alien criminals over Americans. Funny he holds both records!

Here's a neat idea! Why don't we elect a communist organizer to the presidency?? That way, we can be entertained when he calls upon the UN to place peacekeeping forces between Arizona law enforcement personnel and narco-terrorists who, truth be known, are simply misunderstood capitalists.

I need to go kick my dog now.

I'd like to lodge a complaint to the UN that my human rights are being violated every time Barry signs legislation. Plus my human rights are being violated every time I have to look at that linebacker of a wife of his in another gaudy sofa print dress.

Some of the countries on the UN Human Rights Council have no right judging us...e.g., China

This is the most boneheaded thing I've read all year.
What God fearing American president would complain about America to the UN about one of her states.

This should prove to ANYONE still not convinced obummer is anti-American that he is a commie infiltrator. This is beyond stupid. What next?

The language in question doesn't even qualify as a complaint by any definition. It addresses an issue which has raised international attention, and states that the US is handling this issue. It mystifies me why so many people are wasting their time screeching about this when there are real issues to be solved.

Illegal immigration is a real issue that needs to be solved. That Obama tattled to the UN about Arizona is highly unusual and I take offense, as an American. As one of We The People.

And as We The People we have a right to have our say, even on the internet. You may characterize that as screeching, but I don't. I never once used all caps.
