Deem And Pass, July 1, 2010-Congress Hits A New Low

I have posted this video before. I am reposting it in honor of July 4th. This song has special significance. American soldiers continue to fight and die for our country in the field, deserving our ongoing thanks and appreciation. The 9/11 imagery is powerful, reminding us that we stand for freedom and individual rights in a world that fears the individual. Some in our own country fail to protect our unalienable rights, some of which are enumerated in the Constitution. Who would have guessed that our country would come to a point where a Congress of representatives could Deem a Nonexistent Budget Bill PASSED, as our congress did on Thursday of this week.
Last night, as part of a procedural vote on the emergency war supplemental bill, House Democrats attached a document that "deemed as passed" a non-existent $1.12 trillion budget. The execution of the "deeming" document allows Democrats to start spending money for Fiscal Year 2011 without the pesky constraints of a budget. The procedural vote passed 215-210 with no Republicans voting in favor and 38 Democrats crossing the aisle to vote against deeming the faux budget resolution passed. Never before -- since the creation of the Congressional budget process -- has the House failed to pass a budget, failed to propose a budget then deemed the non-existent budget as passed as a means to avoid a direct, recorded vote on a budget, but still allow Congress to spend taxpayer money.
Hat tip Newsbusters.
Don't be fooled by the 38 Democrats who crossed the aisle to vote against this. They are the ones Pelosi gave permission to, so they would have political cover during the upcoming elections. Democrats have sold out our country and our Constitution all this past year. If she had needed their votes for this bill or others, she would have had them. We must remember in November.
The Constitution says that members of congress are supposed to vote yes or no on each bill and those votes are recorded. You can't bang a gavel and deem something passed. This is Treason. And there will be more. I expect that the lame duck session after November will be one for the history books.
Alexander Hamilton said that there are two ways to bring a country to its knees. Conquering by force, or through debt. May God help us as we fight for our country and our future.

Better 1000 enemies outside the gates, than 1 enemy within.

Congress?

What Congress?

Opus, you're counting pennies again. What's a paultry $1.12 trillion?

There is no way the parasites and criminals on Capitol Hill could justify any budget - and then there are those pesky (and tedious) budget hearings where people would ask WHY they want to spend a hundred billion here or a hundred billion there. Who needs that when you have the "transparent government" the regime promised - and delivered.

I don't think you understand Amerika.

barack hussein obama does.

We have a great deal of work to do. Sadly, Crist is polling ahead of Rubio; and Angle is losing ground against Reid.

We need to keep working until the last poll closes in November.

I have gotten together info on the my local reps and have put them into a guide that I am giving out to my neighbors. I live in a sea of blue, but on the off chance I can get Jim Moran out of office it will be worth it.

Excellent analysis Opus.

They act just like dictators.

How can anyone call themselves democrat and have any self-respect. Even as of years ago, but now? Wow.

What goes around. Let's hope it's not too long. More importantly, that if the red team gets the majority they will operate with the same impunity and roll this stuff back.

Too many folks are failing to realize that the 2010 campaign has already begun. It's time to get active.

I love the song Opie. That is a great tribute to our brave men and women in our military who are serving over seas.

Great analysis! We have a bunch of cowards and treasonous congresscriminals that need to be booted out of office this November.
