Perry: Obama "Hell-Bent" on Socialism

Texas GOP Gov. Rick Perry accused President Barack Obama on Wednesday of “punishing” Texas and being “hell-bent” on turning the United States into a socialist country.

Speaking at a luncheon for a Midland County Republican Women’s group, Perry said that “this is an administration hell-bent toward taking American towards a socialist country. And we all don’t need to be afraid to say that because that’s what it is.”

Perry praised the tea party movement to the Republican activists in attendance, crediting the grassroots groups with discouraging some Democrats in Washington from pushing for a public option in the health care bill.

“If you all think those tea parties didn’t work, then let me tell you something,” Perry said. “When they all came home in August for those town hall meetings, they got an earful. Then they went back to Washington, D.C. and the Senate voted that public option down in committee with a majority of Democrats in the Senate.”

Perry also accused the Obama administration of intentionally dumping illegal immigrants from other western states in Texas, recalling a conversation he had with local officials notifying him that illegal aliens that were caught in Nogales, Arizona were being dropped off by federal authorities in Presidio, Texas.

Perry is too optimistic. That public option is being set up in small steps to a single payer system.

We have a love/hate relationship with Rick here in Texas. Mostly we get grumpy with him because he'll stand in the way of Kays shot at the guvnahs job.

Isn't it interesting . . . when Obama wants something it has to be done RIGHT NOW. When a much needed decision must be made, i.e., more soldiers in Afghanistan, it seems to take him forever. The Con Man in Chief.

Texas (for all it's perceived political flaws) is a bright shining light on a mountain for California too look at.

I don't think the public option is dead on healthcare. The PelosiCare plan, still in play, pushes the public option and the $2 trillion dollar millstone around our necks -- for no good purpose.

I'm not afraid to say it ... Obama is a Commie.

as long as the democrats are in control the public option will always be considered. the whole bill is FLAWED anyway, which means it should be axed completely.

MaInfo -- I agree with me old buddy Chupa on this -- we love/hate slick Rick. He says enough to sound conservative, his walk is a little light in the loafers for real conservatives. He buy FAARRR is better than the Hilliary kissing Kay. My vote will go with a true conservative, Debra Medina. You can ck out her site at medinafortexas.com . She believes in the U.S.Constitution and our states right from the fed. If it comes to a close race between Rick and Kay, well Rick will get mine, but Medina is who I want and my fellow Texans should want.
Keep up the GREAT work. sharky

Perry is on my short list for Prez, Opus!

Bill, I agree with you. The dems in charge really want the public option.

Chup, so you prefer Kay?

Wo, con man in chief. CMIC. Yep!

Odie, obommie the commie.

LL, you have got it. The closer looms the public option, the more longingly I look at Texas, or any place that stands up for the sovereign rights of its citizens.

Opus #6 said...

Me, I'm with you on that. Let's scrap the whole thing.

LCR, that is high praise from you.

Candle, NO! It is YOU who are great!

Sharky, I will have to keep an eye on Medina. This is the first I have heard of her.

Kay B-H. lost me when she pledged with the Dems Females, not to campaign against each other-"us girls have to stick together-we're needed in the Congress". What the Hell? If they are the opposition-Bring Out The MUD.
A relationship is more important than Your party's numbers for Leadership? Then something has to go-in this case some one named Kay.
I understand that a Female can feel alone in a Male Dominated arena-but to help your opposition by a sucker punch, is someone not looking-not looking out for Her Team.

I'm a bit cautious about Perry, but I loved his decision to deploy Texas Rangers to the border.
