Happy Sunday, Opie! THis was pretty! I think we could all be considered misunderstood. But we are the intelligent ones, and if the dolts, nutters and psycho's misunderstand Patriotism and intelligence, that's their problem!
Beautiful and one of my favorite songs! When I was a kid I remember my parents going to a themed costume party. Come as your favorite song. My dad went as Vincent and complained because no one understood.
I've read somewhere that some astronomers were convinced that the painting was a factual representation of the sky on that date. The Apod that I linked to indicates there is some dissent on that subject. Anyway, interesting stuff.
My personal opinion would favor the factual representation. Just seems to me people worked much harder at fact in those days.

Thanks Dr. Opie, I'm still misunderstood, but I sure feel better about myself now.
Glad to help, Odie.
Vincent done good for a one-eared guy.
:^)
I think I am totally misunderstood. The problem is, I have no one to blame but myself, I guess
Misunderstood? I don't know if I'm that...just mostly ignored!

I love the paintings.
It looks like Vincent lived in a hard yet beautiful place.
Great tune :)
Speaking of being Misunderstood
Madame,
Understood or not, thank you for the quiet respite amidst the din of rap, poliitcal invective, and gaseous rhetoric.
It is one of those brief moments in life where one closes one's eyes, takes a deep breath, is refreshed, picks up the sword and moves on.

How many of us feel like the white iris?
Wo, it has been conjectured that Vincent had a debilitating ear condition.
Dr. Dave, happy to make you smile.
Chief, We are all individuals. I think we are able to understand parts of each other, but never the totality.
Steph, your blog is immensely popular. You may be many things, but ignored is not one of them. On the internet, that is.
Bunni, that's the spirit. You are unflagging in your fervor. Thank you.
Johnny, that only proves how misunderstood Vincent was. ;-)
Kid, of course this song reminded me of you. Great link. Thanks!
Voyska, we all need a break from time to time.
Opus, Check out Apod for today.
Red, the white iris in the sea of purple? The black sheep in the family? We are all unique and lovely. And so are you.
Kid, that is a HUGE coincidence! And a GREAT pic!
Opus, that's what I thought.
