Republicans have a Plan

Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY) discusses the Republican plan for health care reform. Do not allow anybody to claim that Republicans do not have a plan. It is all right here. These are the same ideas my Republican representative, Gary Miller, discussed at our local Town Hall this past week. H/T Splash in the Pacific.

Near the end there he says If the Dems stop on their current path then we'll have a chance at real reform, implementing the types of things he mentions like competition, tort reform, etc, that are obvious to most of us.

But what if they don't Mike ?

Government By the people, For the people. It sure feels like that's out the window, and now one of the two most powerful parties in the USA is making sounds like it is powerless - If the Dems insist to stay on their current path.

There is something missing here. That the people no longer have a voice. That the 2nd most powerful political party may not have a voice either and doesn't look like it does.

Hell, the Republican that ran for the White House in 08 is pushing this nightmare of government health care take over.

Well, let's see if the MSM lets it be heard.

Kid, I don't know about McCain anymore. He has disappointed me once too often. The dems don't have to listen to anyone, so they think. I hope this Summer of Discontent has given them pause for thought.

Nickie, we are the MSM now.

Opus, I hope it drags out until November 2010.

And you're right about the MSM. But we need to get more MS.

Isn't Sen. Enzi one of the Republicans working with Grassley, Snow and the Dems on a bi-partisan bill? That's the one with the co-ops. That's not necessarily the right way to go either.

What's with the cerebral halo?!

Cany, lol, I didn't see that until now. The halo stays put while his head moves, so my guess is it is part of the background. :-D

Lady, I don't want coops. That is one secret method of getting government control. The government runs the coop, lol. I didn't hear him backing it on this video. I will have to look into that other stuff further.

A government monopoly? Where is he getting that from? Not any of the bills on the table. I hear no plan except insurance co-ops and tort reform, bandaid solutions. The issue is FOR-PROFIT insurance skimming gobs of money from the health care system. To fix that you either have to mandate all insurance as non-profit orgs or leave them intact as for-profit entities and provide a gov option that can hold their feet to the fir at the risk of extinction. If they go extinct, that will be their own choice to not become better.
