Indefinite Detention? Shame on you, Mr. Obama

Rachel Maddow, of the most liberal MSNBC, is aghast that Obama's plans for Prolonged Detention exceed those of any president EVER.

"In Germany, they came first for the Communists, And I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist;
And then they came for the trade unionists, And I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist;
And then they came for the Jews, And I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew;
And then... they came for me... And by that time there was no one left to speak up."

They created this monster so they must take him down. He's making more enemies than JFK, Lincoln or any others ever did and at lightspeed as well.

Preventive incarceration, prolonged detention, makes Bush sound like Mr Rodgers...I dislike this woman but this report made me give her a chance,albeit a tiny one thanks Opus

I don't have speakers to listen here at work, but I'll listen later. I somehow missed this.

There were problems with the captives from this war that we never faced before. I was one voice (of several) within the government who thought that tribunals needed to be set up to establish a definite disposition to those detained as a result of the ongoing war against radical Sunni Islam.

The easier course was to leave them outside the US (in Gitmo, for example) and make no decision. The Bush Administration made that decision to postpone a decision and the Obama Administration is following suit.

there is plenty of presidence to hold war criminals. What about that don't liberals get? They will kill us if we let them go. Why is that so hard for them to understand?
